Families Matter helps people solve problems; whether individuals, families, groups or community, through direct intervention or public education to help people make better more informed decisions. We help people solve relationship problems.
Everyone has problems, but many people can resolve most of their problems, much of the time. We want to help when people are looking for guidance, directions, information. How do I know if I need help? Seeking help is often directly related to the degree of discomfort or unmanageability associated with the problem. How does it impact your life?
- Sara got in trouble at school because of her phone. When she got home her mother demanded she hand over her phone, Sara refused saying her father pays for it and he doesn’t have a problem with it! What can I do?
- I think my husband, has a drug abuse problem. How can I tell? What can I do?
- My ex is always late to pick up our child, sometimes she’ll call at the last minute to cancel. What can I do?
- My mother and I don’t talk anymore, I miss her, what can I do?
It’s not hard to tell people what they don’t want to hear, the goal is tell them in a way they will listen!
We educate the community through the use of entertaining programs to teach and inform the community the basics about substance abuse, addiction, and other mental health problems, relationship building, and ways to effectively utilize community resources to serve the family’s needs.
